Steam Linker — Privacy Policy

The Rust Sentinel — Steam Linker browser extension exists for one purpose: to complete the one-time account link between your Steam/Rust+ account and your own Rust Sentinel Discord bot. Last updated 2026.

What it accesses

• On rustsentinel.net/link/<code>: the one-time link code in the page URL, saved locally so the login step can finish the right account.
• On companion-rust.facepunch.com: the Rust+ auth token that Facepunch issues after you log in with Steam. Your Steam username and password are entered on Steam's own website and are never seen by the extension.

What it does with it

• Sends only that Rust+ token to the Rust Sentinel backend (rustsentinel.net) to finish linking your account. Nothing else is transmitted.
• Stores the link code and backend address in your browser's local extension storage, and clears them once linking completes.

What it does NOT do

• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party sharing, no selling of data.
• Runs on no sites other than the two listed above. It has no access to your browsing history or other tabs.
